Fall in love with your Montana Elopement

From the wildflower-covered meadows to the crystal-clear lakes tucked beneath snow-capped peaks, Montana is pure magic for your elopement. There’s something about the wide-open skies and mountain air that makes every moment feel alive and every love story feel right at home.

I fell in love with this place after my own Montana elopement adventure, and now I get to help couples craft their dream days here, too. Whether you’re saying “I do” in Glacier National Park, running through the tall grass of the Flathead Valley, or sneaking away to the Bitterroot Range or Kootenai Falls, each spot has its own kind of wonder! It's the perfect setting for a story that’s entirely yours.

My Approach as Your Elopement Photographer

STUNNING Montana Elopment  Locations

WHY MONTANA IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO BEGIN

Your elopement isn’t just about the photos... it’s about the feeling. I’m here to capture the real, messy, joyful, breathtaking parts of your day, the adventure and the commitment that make it meaningful. Every session is custom-built around you, your story, your energy, your kind of magic.

As your Montana elopement photographer, I’ll help with more than just photos. From scouting the dream location to figuring out timelines and logistics, I’ve got you covered so you can stay focused on what matters: soaking up every second together. The best images happen when you forget the camera is even there, and that’s my specialty!

If you’re dreaming of eloping in Montana, the hardest part will be choosing where. The rugged peaks of Glacier National Park, the sparkling waters of Flathead Lake, and the cozy charm of Whitefish, Bigfork, and Bozeman all make unforgettable backdrops. For something more tucked away, spots like Big Sky, Livingston, and the Bitterroot Range offer wild, romantic spaces perfect for saying “yes” to forever.

Traveling from out of state? I’ll help plan every detail,  from finding the best Montana elopement location for your vision to choosing the ideal time of year to catch that golden light.

Eloping in Montana isn’t just about picking a spot on the map, it’s about choosing an adventure. The mountains, the open skies, the feeling of freedom... it’s all part of what makes your wedding day something you’ll never forget.

Your elopement doesn’t have to follow a script. It can be wild, intimate, full of laughter, or quiet and soulful.... whatever feels like you. So if you’ve been dreaming about your Montana elopement, let’s start planning the adventure of a lifetime!

How to Get a Marriage License in Motana

Getting a marriage license in Montana is super easy! You don’t need to be a Montana resident to tie the knot here, and there’s no waiting period. Which means you can get your license and say “I do” on the very same day.

Marriage licenses are issued by the Clerk of District Court in any Montana county. Both partners will need to go in person, bring a valid photo ID (like a driver’s license or passport), and pay a small fee, usually between $53 and $60, depending on the county. If either of you has been married before, just bring proof of divorce and you’re good to go.

Once your license is issued, it’s valid right away and stays valid for 180 days, so you’ll have plenty of flexibility when planning your ceremony date.

If you’re traveling from out of state, I’m happy to walk you through the whole process from recommending which county office is most convenient for your Montana elopement location to sharing insider tips on timing, permits, and logistics to make it all run smoothly.
